Chic Street Man

Chic is a uniquely talented artist with an international following. Chic's music transcends cultural and attitudinal barriers, bringing home his message of equality and racial harmony through acoustic bluesy ballads, funky rhythms and jazzy upbeat originals. Chic will use his music to inspire trust and group participation. Everyone is invited to sing, clap, tap or snap their fingers. "It's total involvement that creates understanding," Chic says, "and understanding promotes growth."
Chic has performed with Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, B.B. King, Taj Mahal, etc. He earned the title of "Musical Ambassador For Peace And Human Rights," in part through appearances at the U.N. General Assembly in New York, three appearances as a performer at the United Nations in Geneva, and with his involvement in three Peace Child theatrical productions touring to Russia and Poland.

Eric Ode
Yee Haw! - A Wild West Music and Poetry Concert
for Kids

We're singing in the saddle! It's a high-participation music and poetry concert with popular children's singer, songwriter, and poet Eric Ode. The author of the hilarious collection of cowboy poems Tall Tales of the Wild West (And a Few Short Ones) and the recipient of four Parents' Choice Awards, Eric will be joined by that crabby tabby Scratch, the Barn Cat for a dusty-trails duet. Props, puppets, sing-alongs, and hand motions create a knee-slapping concert. Eric's original music has been heard on children's radio programs across the country, on many compilation albums, and on the popular PBS series Dragonfly TV.

Eva Abram
Fun-tastic Folktales: African & African-American Folktales

Storyteller Eva Abram is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a graduate of the University of Washington. She uses stories such as The King of the Birds, Katchie Katchie Blue Jay, and How Animals got their Coats to explore where stories come from, why we tell them, and how tone of voice, gestures and body language heighten storytelling impact. Children learn how they can teach kindness, respect, fairness, sharing and other lessons, and are encouraged to try it for themselves.
