Ranger & The Re-Arrangers
Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” evoke the spirit of a Paris cafe or a Gypsy campsite with their unique twist on “gypsy jazz.” Intriguing melodies played vigorously on stringed-instruments give them an acoustic, driving sound; their hand drummer adds a world rhythm beat. The band features two outstanding jazz improvisers, Ranger on violin and Dave Stewart on mandolin. The band’s repertoire includes swing standards, traditional Gypsy melodies, the music of Django & Grappelli, Brazilian choros, and unique originals.

Back Burner

Back Burner, a 6-piece acoustic string band, plays a toe tappin' mix of bluegrass, swing, jazz, country, and blues. Their music blends jazz vocals and bluegrass harmonies into “a bluegrass swing fusion that works!" Loren Postma from Everett is one of the northwest's premier dobro players. Snohomish resident Lou Allen plays guitar. Bothell's Brad Hull plays bass and fiddle. Dave Campbell and Tom Brisk are both from Woodinville. Dave plays banjo and bass, and Tom plays mandolin. The Back Burner boys all sing. Kirkland resident Karen Story specializes in singing swing and joins the boys on vocals. The Wanderers
and
Cabin Fever
The Wanderers, Carl Allen and Bill Murlin, sing sweet folk songs of yesterday with great harmonies. They specialize in the Columbia River songs by Woody Guthrie, and their programs include Woody's quotes, known and unknown songs and stories about how the songs were written. Cabin Fever from Bellingham, WA, has a sound that easily fits into the mountains of the Appalachian homeland where its music was birthed. The duo, Dianne Bochsler and Tara Wolfe, blend a love for mountain music, musical chops to match their influences and a knack for weaving contemporary themes into the story lines. “An unexpected and delicious vocal blend, like hot sauce and ice cream, served with a side of rhythm guitar and claw-hammer banjo. Organic, soul-filled and feminine folk.”
